I bought this because NJ has had a rough year and my previous long-handled broom jawn couldn''t handle it. I will say - you can find this exact same thing cheaper in Lowe''s. I didn''t realize that until after I purchased it, but whatever. I bought one that was "Like New" but still in original packaging and saved myself some coin there.

As for the actual thing - the scraper is glorious. The super long handle is amazing for a 5''2" woman trying to push all the snow off the top of her crossover SUV ("clear the snow before you go" applies to short people and SUV''s too). I wish the broom part was ever so slightly wider. I feel like my last broom was about a foot wide, but this one is kind of short so it takes a little more time to clear my car off.

Overall, solid product. Make the broom wider if it won''t sacrifice quality.

Useful features, comfortable grips, seems well made... but there are a couple problems!

Several times this winter I found find this thing frozen in the collapsed position and would struggle to extend it. It seems some snow will get in near the mechanism that secures the position and melts and refreezes. This locks the unlock mechanism up solidly, making it a real pain to extend on on a cold morning.

The previous snow brush/scraper I had with a similar design had a twist to unlock mechanism and it never got stuck like this. I''ll live with it, but I think it''d be better with an old fashioned twist unlock. This seems like something that should have been caught in product testing before it was released. If this had a locking mechanism that wouldn''t get frozen up so easily this would be an easy 4 stars.

The other issue that cuts a star away is the ice scraper on the side of the brush. It''s an interesting idea but I''d rather just see those same ridges on the backside of the existing scraper. The problem with this placement is it makes clearing snow off from the base of the windshield a pain if you''re on the left side of the car. This extra scraper will catch on the wipers, and clobber the edge of the hood of your car. I''m not a fan of that so I had to make a point of only clearing the base of the windshield from the passenger side of the car. Not ideal.

Having only used it one winter, I can''t speak to the long term durability.

This is by far the sturdiest scraper/brush/squeegee I have ever seen. The end rotates with a push button, which is more useful than it sounds. Also, the handle is made of thick metal in a square tube shape.. which resists bending and feels way more solid than the thin metal, round tube ones I have used.

The scraper is also stronger than I am used to.. rather than thinning out right before it attaches to the handle, this scraper doesn''t skimp on the plastic, which means it can take more pressure/hitting ice without snapping off (like every other scraper I have ever owned). I also bought a brass scraper for $3, which I use for thick ice to avoid chewing up the flat edge on the plastic scraper.

Edit: Finally broke, but due to someone in my back seat attempting to kick it under the seat. He managed to shatter the brush head :(
Over the course of using this brush, it worked admirably. The only issue I had was with the lock mechanism for the extension of the pole. I found that a small amount of silicone lubricant restored it pretty well, however.

I intent to order another one, but looking at the reviews it seems that the quality of received product can vary drastically. Almost as if there were 2 different units being sold or something.

I got this last year after we had a snow storm didn''t have a chance to use it. Now we have had a Major storm here in Northern MD It worked Great all my Neighbors used it. They were out there with Brooms and even a Swifter, Once I showed them how this worked with the Pivoting Head and the Pole that goes out, Shoot it was gone for over 3 hrs. We had over 30" of Snow here, and this worked Perfectly. Everyone asked where I got it. Great thing to own if you live in a Snow Area. I would buy this again...although don''t think I will have to, it seems to be holding up well under all this snow and ice.

Very sturdy. Was very happy to see the ice scraper is very even/clean, leaving no streaks behind it.
The handle doesn''t give at all, brush works well, a little smaller of a brush than hoping but works great.
Best ice scraper I''ve used, like I said most I see don''t scrap evenly, this was a breeze and got every flake of ice.
Extends very far, ideal for truck owners who want to clean the whole windshield from one side.
My one negative is that random ice breaker thing on the side of the brush. I haven''t used it and it gets in the way very often.
For example when brushing off your wipers, that plastic nub scraps against the wipers and doesn''t let you get close enough.
Regardless of that it still brushes off well enough and remains the best brush I''ve used.

I''ve gone through two winters with this brush, and for my purposes, it does the job. NJ passed a law a couple of years ago requiring that all vehicles be completely cleared of snow, or you can be given a secondary summons by a police officer - thus an effective brush is a legal necessity. Mind you, I did this anyway, but clearing the snow from a 4-wheel-drive dual-rear-wheel pickup can be time consuming with a normal snow brush.

The big feature for me is the extendable handle. This allows me to clear the entire roof without having to do half the roof, then get to the other side of the truck to do the other half. Also makes for easier cleaning of the hood and reaching the center of the windshield and rear window. I also like the 90° rotation of the brush head, so you can use either side-sweep or "broom" strokes, Depending on which best does the particular job. I had an extendable-handle brush about 20 years ago, but after it broke, I never found one as long or as functional until this one.

The dual ice scrapers don''t look like they''re going to do much, but in practice, the "ice crusher" head actually does what it says and works on thicker ice with a lot less effort than I expected.

I knocked off one star because the brush itself could be a little thicker, or more densely bristled... it works just fine on heavy wet snow, but the fine powdery snow can sometimes get through the bristles and you have to sweep more often for the same spot to be completely clear.

2013-14 will be my third winter with this brush, and so far, it''s doing what I expect. While I''ll always keep an eye out for that elusive "super brush", I wouldn''t hesitate to get this brush again should I need a new one.

Works great! I''ve already had to use this twice on early snows here in Wyoming. I love that''s it''s extendable and long and sturdy enough to push the snow off the other side of my windshield (I''m six foot and drive a midsize SUV). It extends and locks into place with pin locks instead of a twist lock so it stays extended but is very easy to shorten even with winter gloves on.

I''d say I can''t wait to use it again, but I really hate the snow. : P

Cons: the main part of this brush (or any brush) is the...brush...and this is pitifully think and small...after using a major hardware store chain''s brush last year which contained more bristles than a push broom, well this just seemed very thin. it works...don''t get me wrong, but it is lacking...and since I paid a little extra for this brush, I was hoping for something more there. Overall it does the trick, and I see where the money went (construction, metal materials, and decent design), but the brush boys...the brush. Beef it up and this would be 4 stars. Turn the rubber side into a ''no-scratch-the-paint'' snow brush (but keep the bristles side for glass of course), and it''d be a 5 star.

I''ve now used this brush for almost two winters and though I really wanted to love it, it is just an average extendable snow brush. You can get equally good or better brushes for less money (I bought it for $33). It tends to freeze shut so that you have to bang it against the ground to extend it. The construction seems to be of decent quality but it is on the lightweight side which makes it feel a bit flimsy when fully extended. And the little ice crusher feature is placed perpendicular to the brush which means you can scratch your vehicle if you aren''t careful when brushing certain areas. Also the frost scraper is no better than on a $10 brush. One of the few disappointments I''ve had on Amazon.

For having extendable and rotatable parts, it''s actually quite sturdy. The bristles are hard enough that they work for thin ice that just started freezing (eg. get back to car after dinner out). The extended reach makes it very easy to clean the roof of my hatchback, but you do lose a bit of control with it since the weight is at the end. The grips are well-positioned. The main (but small) problem I have with it is the release button for rotating the brush head. It works well most of the time, but sometimes you gotta press it a bit harder (you press on both sides). We had almost 45cm of snow last month, and I''ve been quite pleased with this snow brush. * The price seems to have gone up since I purchased mine, and with the price as of this review, I might consider other options again.
